Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Site and services and to enable users to enjoy the Site. When you create an account we will set up a Petzoop profile for you. The profile will generally contain your first name, last name initial, location, and pet details. These profiles will be made available publicly throughout the Site. We will not reveal personally identifying information (consisting of physical address, email address, and phone number) until after a booking request is made and confirmed, at which point we will share the above information to facilitate a seamless transaction.
Site Visitor/User Data
a) We collect personal information which may include but is not limited to the your name, physical address, phone number, email address, cookies, IP logs, and other information you provide that is required to process your listing or respond to a request. When you utilize the services offered by the Site, we will also collect payment information which is necessary to fulfill your order and taxpayer identification numbers (including in some cases, social security numbers where applicable) to fulfill obligations under applicable state or federal laws or regulations. All of the foregoing information shall be collectively referred to hereafter as "Personal Information." If you fill out a Contact Us form or email us, we will use that information to respond to your request. Your Personal Information will not be distributed or shared with third parties unless it is to transact such business as you have contracted us to do, to comply with any applicable state or federal laws or regulations, legal processes and/or law enforcement requests, or in order to conduct any business as we, in our sole subjective discretion, deem reasonable.
b) We collect and store Personal Information automatically and in the aggregate. We use the information that we collect to provide and maintain the Site as we deem appropriate in our sole discretion. When you visit the Site, we may store some or all of the following: the IP address from which you access the Site, the date and time, the IP address of the web site from which you linked to the Site, the name of the file or words you searched on our Site, items clicked on a page, the browser and operating system used. This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the various sections of our site and identify system performance.
c) We use Persistent Cookies to gain aggregate metrics on site usage to understand how people are using the site and how we can make it better. You may have software on your computer that will allow you to decline or deactivate Internet cookies, but if you do so, some features of the Site may not work properly for you. In addition, further information regarding cookies may be available on other Sites or from your Internet service or browser provider.
d) We use web metrics services to track activity on the Site. We use this information to help us develop the Site, analyze patterns of usage, and to make the Site more useful. This information is not used for associating search terms or patterns of site navigation with individual users.
We do not knowingly allow any visitors or users under the age of eighteen (18) to use or otherwise access to the Site. We do not wish to collect any Personal Information (or any information at all) from any persons under 18 years old. If you are under 18 years old, you may not use the Site.
Please note that data that is transported over an open network, such as the Internet or e-mail, may be accessible to anybody. We cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted via such open networks. When disclosing any personal information via an open network, you should remain mindful of the fact that it is potentially accessible to others, and consequently, can be collected and used by others without your consent. Your data may be lost during transmission or may be accessed by unauthorized parties. We do not accept any liability for direct or indirect losses as regards the security of your Personal Information or data during its transfer via Internet. Please use other means of communication if you think this is necessary or prudent for security reasons.
For network security purposes and to ensure that our Site remains available to all users, we employ commercial software programs to monitor network traffic and attempt to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. All payment information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, encrypted into our payment gateway, and accessible only by those authorized with special access rights to such systems who are required to keep the information confidential.
Identity theft and the practice currently known as "phishing" are of great concern to Petzoop.com. Safeguarding information to help protect you from identity theft is a priority. We do not and will not, at any time, request your credit card information, your account ID, login password, or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication. Messages Sent Via a Petzoop.com Account
As part of the Service, Petzoop.com Users may communicate with Petzoop.com Members through use of the "Contact" feature on the site. Where Petzoop.com Users have selected the option of adding one or more email addresses to an online form, the message they create in the corresponding template will be sent from Petzoop.com to those email addresses on their behalf. These email addresses will be used only for the purpose of sending the email communication to the addressee.
Your friend may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request that we remove this information from our database, and we will use reasonable efforts to remove the information.
You can import contacts from your email account address book to invite them to send you a recommendation. We collect the username and password for the email account you wish to import your contacts from and will only use it for that purpose only. By choosing to import your contacts, you consent to our access of your email address book. Your use of the “Contact” feature (or any other messaging feature) of the Site is subject to the Terms of Service. We have the right, but not the obligation, to review, save, edit, decline to transmit, and otherwise use such messages, including their contents, in our sole discretion. YOUR USE OF THE “CONTACT” OR ANY OTHER MESSAGING FEATURE OF THE SITE CONSTITUTES BOTH YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT MESSAGES SENT USING THESE FEATURES ARE NOT PRIVATE, AND YOUR CONSENT FOR US TO REVIEW, SAVE, EDIT, DECLINE TO TRANSMIT, AND OTHERWISE USE THE MESSAGES OR THEIR CONTENTS OR DISCLOSE THEIR CONTENTS TO THIRD PARTIES, IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Petzoop.com is designed to allow Members who have a home to host dogs ("Hosts"), Members who will travel to another Members home to watch pets ("Sitters"), and Members who wish to find care for their pets ("Pet Owners") to share information with one another in order to facilitate arranging stays and sittings. Listings posted by Hosts and Sitters, ratings and reviews of Hosts, Sitters and Pet Owners, and the Profile Information (as defined below) of Hosts and Pet Owners, are visible to any visitor to the site. If a Host or a Sitter and a Pet Owner enter into a confirmed transaction with one another (the Host accepts the Pet Owner's request, and the Pet Owner's payment details are collected and processed), then the Pet Owner and the Host's Identity Information are shared with each other in order to facilitate the reservation. In no event is a Pet Owner's Billing Information shared with their Host or Sitter.
If you post any of your information to a public area of our Service, please be aware that it is no longer Personal Information for the purposes of this policy, and we or anyone else may use such information without restriction. If you provide access to Personal Information or other information, including your email address or name, to a limited set of other users through any of our privacy controls or other settings, please understand that Petzoop.com has no control over how others may collect, use, or disclose such information.
Petzoop.com Members and Users
When you register through the Site and submit your Personal Information to create a profile webpage, Petzoop.com Users will see your first name and last initial ("Required Member Identifiers"). You can choose what other Personal Information you provide as part of your profile ("Other Member Information") (together, your "Profile Information"). We will display your Profile Information in your profile page, elsewhere on the Site, and on third party sites (e.g., through the use of a Petzoop.com HTML "widget" or API). Any information you choose to provide as part of your profile should reflect how much you want other Petzoop.com Users to know about you. We recommend that you guard your anonymity and sensitive information and we encourage members to think carefully about what information about themselves they disclose in their profile pages. You can review and revise your profile information at any time.
If you post a listing, we may publish that listing anywhere on the Site and may enable third parties to publish your listing on their site through the use of an HTML "widget". We may also display the geographical location of your listing in the form of a map so that potential guests can see the general area and neighborhood of your listing, but your actual street address will not be disclosed until you enter into a confirmed transaction with another Petzoop.com Member. If you enter into a confirmed transaction with another Petzoop.com Member (that is, you request hosting or sitting from another Member, the other Member confirms your reservation, and your payment is processed, you will have access to that Member's Identity Information, and that Member will have access to your Identity Information. Note that Members will never have access to your Billing Information.

Petzoop may link to Sites created and maintained by public and private organizations which may include or offer third party products or services. When you access a linked site you may be disclosing private information. It is your responsibility to keep such information private and confidential. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. Petzoop does not control or guarantee the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, or completeness of information contained on a linked Site and does not have responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. If you click a link to an outside website, you will leave the Site and are subject to the privacy and security policies of the owners/sponsors of the outside website. Petzoop cannot authorize the use of copyrighted materials contained in linked websites. Users must request such authorization from the sponsor of the linked website. Petzoop is not responsible for transmissions users receive from linked websites.
Petzoop will not willfully or intentionally link to any website that exhibits hate, bias, or discrimination. Petzoop reserves the right to deny or remove any link that contains misleading information or unsubstantiated claims, or is determined to be in conflict with Petzoop's mission or policies.
